Here's what you should know before ordering:
WHO
SHOULD NOT USE LATISSE®: glaucoma, skin/eye infections,
chronic eye problems, pregnancy & lactating women.
If you have
any eye condition including but not limited to an eye infection, broken or
irritated upper eyelid skin, if you are using products for elevated intraocular
pressure, (glaucoma) or allergic to any of the ingredients, you should talk to
your local physician in person prior to using Latisse®. As a precaution,
pregnant and lactating women should not use this product as potential side
effects to the unborn or nursing infant are not fully known.
LATISSE® SOLUTION CONTAINS:
Are you allergic? Do not
order Latisse, if you are allergic to any of it's ingredients:
Active
ingredient: bimatoprost opthalmic solution
Inactive ingredients:
benzalkonium chloride; sodium chloride; sodium phosphate, dibasic; citric acid;
and purified water.
Sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid may be added
to adjust pH. The pH during its shelf life ranges from 6.8 — 7.8.
POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS: eye redness/ itchiness, eyelid
hyperpigmentation, unwanted hair growth, dry eyes, iris pigmentation (rare.)
The most common side effects after properly using LATISSE® solution are an
itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness, which were reported in
approximately 4% of patients. These may occur immediately after use, but should
usually last only for a short period of time. Assuming that you have no known
allergies to any of product's ingredients, eye itching and eye redness are not
allergic reactions, and do not mean that your eyes are being harmed.
LATISSE® solution may cause other less common side effects, which typically
occur on the skin close to where LATISSE® is applied, or in the eyes. These
include eye irritation, dryness of the eyes, and redness of the eyelids. Skin
darkening (or hyperpigmentation) and unwanted hair growth are other less common
side effect.
Increased brown iris pigmentation has occurred when similar
medications were instilled directly into the eye to treat elevated intraocular
pressure/glaucoma. Although iris pigmentation was not reported in
clinical studies with LATISSE®, patients should be advised about the potential
for increased brown iris pigmentation which is likely to be permanent.
HOW TO USE: One drop, per eye, per sterile applicator
- at bedtime.
You should always only use the
FDA-approved sterile applicators that come with the solution to apply LATISSE®
directly to the base of your upper eyelashes only. The applicators have
been specially designed and manufactured to meet FDA standards, and help
patients properly apply and release the product in the correct dose. More is not
necessarily better. Too much can increase your risk of side effects. Keep
the brush tilted down while applying solution. Apply to the upper lid
along the base of the lashes. It should feel damp, but not dripping. Blot any
excess away from corners of the eyes with a tissue.
RESULTS:
Typically, LATISSE® users may see good results at 8 weeks with full
results at 12 to 16 weeks. Remember, the growth is gradual,
overnight and over time.....
